It’s always good to be prepared – especially this time of year. Unexpected expenses come up –busted pipes, dead batteries, broken appliances and such. And of course, it’s always good to have some extra money around the holidays. That ‘s why we offer the Emerald Advance line of credit. The Emerald Advance promotional period begins soon and we have seen a lot of questions about this year’s Emerald Advance. To help, here is a quick overview of how it works.
What is the Emerald Advance?
It is a year-round line of credit that offers the ability to repeatedly borrow and repay money, up to a maximum credit limit determined by the bank after you submit an application. If approved, you’ll be able to choose the amount of your first draw and have it loaded to an Emerald Card right then.
Do I have to take a certain amount?
No, you choose how much you want to borrow at a time so you don’t have to borrow more than you need with any advance. Depending upon the bank, you could be approved for a line of credit of up to $1000.
Can I use my tax refund to repay the advance?
Yes, you may choose to pay down your balance with a portion of your tax refund if you return to H&R Block to have your taxes prepared. Outside of the pay down, there are also many ways available for making monthly payments.
How do I apply?
You can call 855-294-5827 starting today to make an appointment and then come visit a participating office starting November 25th to apply.
What will I need?

- Your Emerald Card® (if you have one)
